John was sick.
Not sniffles sick. Not even hacking cough or runny nose or 'I lost my voice' sick. He was sick. The kind of sick that wracks your body hot then cold, that leaves you shivering in a corner and simultaneously fearing but longing for sleep.
And to make it worse, he was alone. In a shady motel. On the floor, too weak to move to the bed or the ripped chair in the corner.
His hand twitched towards his phone on the table, and after what was surely way too much effort, he managed to slide it off. It hit the carpeted floor with a thud and he let it sit th
My beloved Lu Ten, I will see you again, Iroh vowed, eyes closed and filled with sorrow.
He cared not about the rain drizzling down on him and his robes sticking to his skin. All he cared about was the tiny tombstone residing before him. Calligraphy was graceful inscribed along the edge of it; the elegant writing of his beloved sons name. What was war when it cost your sons life? What was winning if your son wasnt there to share it with you? Nothing. It meant nothing to him. Tears crept through his eyelids and slid down his face.
Uncle?
Iroh felt a small hand tug on his sleeve. He opened his eyes a

Watching-Belated Irko Week
I was a failure
It was seen in my fathers eyes
When Mom was not present
I couldve almost called myself
A child without parents
But, no, there you were
My old man, Uncle Iroh
Youve always watched me
Grow from an angry, young man
To an enlightened young man
Thank you for never
Giving up on me
Before I gave up
On what I was meant to be
Youve never stopped watching me
Even though Im grown
I know youll always be there
To watch me prosper
I can not ask more of you
And for that; thank you, Uncle
Goodbye was the hardest thing for any of them, so he refused to say it. Instead, he would tell her he would see her later. In time they would be together, they just had to wait. Patience wasnt one of her strong suits though. She wanted the answers to her problems then.
A few years had passed since they last saw one another. A few years too long for either of them. He hoped things would stay the same for them, that nothing would have changed. She would still remain beautiful and he would still sweep her off her feet.
Goodbye had always been hard, but it was the hello that was worth it. But his hello never came. She wasnt there wh
War divided the two of them. It was his duty to fight in the war, lead his fellow soldiers in battle. Hers was to stay at home and protect the ones she loved, the ones he loved as well.
My love, promise me youll come back safe. She whispered the night before he left.
Of course. Ill always come back for you. He smiled as he ran his hair through her hair, drawing her closer to him. I can never forget about you.
She smiled, never wanting the moment she had with him to end. His hand traced along her bare back, sending a chill down her spine. She cupped her hand around his chin as he leaned in for
She let the words sink in as they muttered the same word under their breath. Now she stood alone, with no one to comfort her, branded as a horrendous criminal. Fleeing was the only option for her, and it wasnt one she wanted to do.
Traitor
He heard the way they talked. They were all the same, from the army to the citizens; they all said the same word. They all called her the same thing. But they would never know the real reason for any of it. Why she did what she did. They didnt even care.
Traitor
She longed for the touch of her love. Maybe now that she was away from it all, he would come to her. They could live by themselves,
Love was something strong between the two of them. No matter what would happen, they would still remain in love with each other. Of course, the worst they ever thought would happen was war that would divide them apart for a long time. Maybe death of one of them would be the worst. However, nothing could have prepared them for what was to happen.
The marriage was a sight to see. The perfect match in all ways. But not in love. She didnt love him. Not the same as she had Iroh. Still, for their love they continued with this masquerade. They would find a way. Their love was real; thats all that mattered to them.
In the dead of night
Today was the day. Iroh knew in his heart this day was special; it would change him forever. He carried the orchids with him to her doorstep with a smile on his face. Today was the day for him.
She saw him and her heart broke. Instead of running towards him, she ran away. She wanted nothing more than to run into his arms and never leave, even if she never showed it. She hid herself even after he came to her, tears on the brink of falling.
Ursa, why do you run from me? I thought you cared for me. His smile left his face, his heart torn by her expression.
I cant Iroh. Please. Just go. Leave me. Never love me again.

Towards the end of it all, they realized they couldnt run. By that time, it was too late. Too late to do anything except let death wash away everything.
